ATV repeater Cologne, DB0KO

This repeater located in Cologne since 1980 (licence holder DF9KH) had an FM-ATV output on 1280 MHz (only antenna and Sat-TV-Receiver attached to any TV set needed). It was intended to be a "Multimedia" repeater from the start, so besides the ATV inputs from 70 cm to 3 cm there were RTTY, SSTV and FAX inputs on the 2 m band (not active any more). That needed a complex control system working computerized.

QTH locator was JO30LV (on top of bureau building "Deutsche Welle Radio") , end of 2003 dismantled and QRT!

power: 25 W peak, antenna 4 x 4-fould resonance chamber, horizontal in all directions
ATV input 1: 434,250 MHz horiz., AM-ATV VSB, sound subc. 5,5 MHz WBFM (sysop related)
ATV input 2: 1248 MHz vertical in 8 directions, FM-ATV, sound 5,5 MHz
ATV input 3: 2377 MHz horiz. in 8 directions, FM-ATV, sound 5,5 MHz
ATV input 4: 10420 MHz horiz., FM-ATV, sound 5,5 MHz
control input: 144,575 MHz vert., NBFM, for DTMF control and talkback
wheather satellite input: automatically repeated b/w pictures

QRV: 24h, beacon mode with computer testchart, cw call sign on sound output every 10 minutes.

Opening procedures:

23 cm ATV: DTMF #2x on 144,575 MHz (x depending on the own direction i.e. 4 is west, 8 is south of the repeater - DTMF pad like a wind rose) then DTMF 5 on the own ATV sound subcarrier, renew after 10 minutes
13 cm-ATV: DTMF #1x (then accordingly to above)
3 cm-ATV: DTMF 5 on sound subcarrier input

Other details: Regular DARC bulletin on ATV (produced by local radio amateurs) every sunday at 11 h MEZ, followed by amateur videos from various events
